I used that ‘long distance dating’ line in the other comic last year: It was actually written for today’s Kevin/Robin scene first. Then I stole it from myself because I can. I wasn’t even sure the Kevin/Robin scene would ever see daylight.
Pros of being catfished: You get to meet new and interesting people. You have a good story for Gawker. You once again avoid the shame of having to reveal your body. I’m not really seeing the problem(s).
